Now, the company prepares new trim levels and versions, to expand the offer and make the vehicle more approachable to a wider range of buyers. One of the biggest novelties for the next year will be the introduction of the 2024 GMC Hummer EV2X, which will be the first upgrade of the standard EV2 version. It will offer a combination of approachable prices and lots of standard equipment, and that’s why we think it could be one of the most popular versions among buyers.
This model will come with a couple of significant upgrades over the base version. The most important one will be an 800-volt battery technology, which will provide faster charging. Furthermore, you may count on a bigger battery and extended range, along with upgraded suspension, an optional off-road package and more.
2024 GMC Hummer EV2X Design
In terms of base design characteristics, the 2024 GMC Hummer EV2X won’t be much different compared to the standard model. Of course, there is the same styling, as well as the same mechanics, based on the Ultium platform. On the other hand, upgrades are numerous. One of them is an adjustable air suspension that allows you to raise the ground clearance by 6 inches. You may count on the same layout, which offers an attractive cabin design that combines modern aesthetics with a lot of exclusive features and design solutions. Of course, massive screens are among the first thing you’ll notice, but there are also various exclusive details, including those that celebrate GM’s involvement in the Lunar mission back in the ‘60s. This particularly refers to moon footprints on the pedal and Sea of Tranquility on the speakers.
In terms of seating configuration, this pickup comes in a single variant, as a crew cab truck, with two very spacious rows of seats, which both accommodate adults with ease. With a 5-foot cargo bed, the Hummer EV isn’t among the best haulers around.
Features
This version won’t be much different compared to the base model in terms of tech and safety features. Still, that’s not a big issue, considering that there will be a pretty long list of standard equipment. Of course, we are talking about the same 13.4-inch infotainment system, along with a 12.3-inch digital instrument cluster. Furthermore, the list of standard equipment will also include goodies like Apple CarPlay and Android Auto smartphone integration, Wi-Fi hotspot, GM’s OnStar Telematics system etc.
There is also a pretty generous list of standard safety and driver-assistance features. Some of the highlights are automatic emergency braking, pedestrian detection, lane departure warning, lane keep assist, blind-spot monitoring, rear cross-traffic alert, adaptive cruise control and more.
2024 GMC Hummer EV2X Drivetrain, Performance, Battery
The main upgrade over the standard version will be a bigger battery. This model will feature a 212 kWh battery capacity, which should ensure around 300 miles of range. Another important upgrade will be the addition of the 800-volt charger, so you may expect much quicker charging times.
When it comes to performance, this model will come with a dual-motor setup and a max output of 625 horsepower, just like the base model. That power is enough to ensure 0-60 spring in a little bit over 4 seconds, while the top speed is rated at 106 mph.
2024 GMC Hummer EV2X Release Date and Price
We expect that the 2024 GMC Hummer EV2X will arrive this year, with a starting price of around 90.000 dollars, which would be a $10.000 upgrade over the base version. Of course, key competitors will be other all-electric pickups, such as the F-150 Lightning, Rivian R1T, Tesla Cybertruck etc.
