By With the last year’s interior redesign and the recent introduction of the new AT4X off-road version, as well as the fact that the next year is about to bring significant updates to the HD lineup, it’s pretty much for sure that the 2024 GMC Sierra 1500 won’t bring too many interesting updates. Instead, we expect to see a familiar layout with familiar design and features. Of course, that doesn’t mean that we couldn’t see some minor tweaks, especially in terms of new standard and available equipment.
In any case, you may count on a familiar design, which has a lot of great things to offer. This pickup now features one of the nicest cabins in the segment, while we also like the broad range of powertrain options, which includes some pretty capable units. Of course, towing capacity is great, while the new AT4X also offers excellent off-road performance.
As no bigger changes are about to happen in the next year, we presume that the launch date will be scheduled for the last quarter of 2023.
2024 GMC Sierra 1500 Design
So, the 2024 GMC Sierra 1500 should be a typical carryover model, which isn’t a bad thing at all. The current generation has been around since 2019 and it still feels quite fresh. The styling is attractive, while the mechanical aspect of the vehicle makes it relevant not just in terms of working capabilities, but in terms of the ride quality as well. Furthermore, there are also variants of the truck that offer a high level of comfort and convenience, such as Denali and Denali Ultimate trims.
Starting from this year, Sierra also has a highly capable off-roader in the lineup. We are talking about the recently introduced AT4X, which should carry on without more important changes in the next year. This model comes standard with goodies like advanced spool-valve dampers, electronic-locking front and rear diffs, extra skid plates, off-road tires mounted on black 18-inch wheels. Moreover, there is also an optional AEV package that adds even more serious off-road accessories, such as a steel front bumper with a winch, AEV 18-inch wheels, and steel rock sliders.
Interior
The cabin came completely new last year and it is now among the nicest in the class. We like the new dashboard design very much, as it looks modern and features lots of high-quality materials. There are also numerous tech features, such as massive infotainment and instrument screens, while ergonomics have been improved as well. The driving position is good, while higher trim levels also offer 16-way adjustability. Speaking of the higher trim levels, Denali models come with upgrades in terms of finer materials, exclusive color schemes, more convenience features etc.
In terms of cab styles, we will see three familiar variants – regular, double and crew cab models, along with three-bed sizes on offer. All versions offer a pretty good amount of passenger space when compared to similar versions of rival models.
Features
As we already mentioned, the 2024 GMC Sierra 1500 might come with some changes in this aspect but most things are about to remain the same. Therefore, base versions will continue with pretty basic equipment that includes things like a 7-inch touch screen, Apple CarPlay, Android Auto, Bluetooth, a six-speaker audio system (two speakers in Regular Cab models), a USB port and remote keyless entry.
Of course, there is much more in higher trim levels. You can get upgrades like a 12.3-inch digital instrument cluster, 13.4-inch touch screen, wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, Google Maps integration, a Wi-Fi hot spot, wireless device charging, satellite radio, a seven-speaker Bose audio system, a 12-speaker Bose audio system, and additional USB ports. Among available upgrades, you can also find dual-zone automatic climate control, a console-mounted safe, proximity keyless entry, remote start, a universal garage door opener, a power sunroof, an interior 120-volt household-style power outlet, a bed-mounted 120-volt household-style power outlet, and a bed-mounted audio system.
2024 GMC Sierra 1500 Engines
The engine lineup will remain the same, which means that base models will continue with a 2.7-liter turbo-four, which puts out around 310 horsepower and 420 pound-feet of torque. Of course, there are also two familiar V8 options, starting from a 5.3-liter engine that puts out around 355 horsepower and 383 pound-feet of torque. The top of the offer is reserved for the good-old 6.2-liter V8, which features a max output of 420 horsepower and 460 pound-feet of torque.
All three engines are competent and it’s up to you to find your perfect balance between performance and economy. All versions are capable in terms of hauling and towing – when properly equipped, this pickup can tow up to 13.200 pounds and haul up to 2.240 pounds.
2024 GMC Sierra 1500 Release Date and Price
We expect that the 2024 GMC Sierra 1500 will arrive sometime in the last quarter of 2023, with a starting price of around 37.500 dollars. Key competitors are models like RAM 1500, Toyota Tundra, Ford F-150 etc.
