2023 Nissan Titan Warrior Concept To Preview Next Generation?

0

Believe it or not, it’s been nearly seven years since Nissan presented the Warrior concept and, unfortunately, we never saw it in serial production. On the other hand, the standard Titan is still in production, and it is by far the oldest pickup in the segment. That’s why many reports suggest a full redesign in the next year or so. Some reports also speculate about the new Warrior concept, which would preview the new generation. It would come as the 2023 Nissan Titan Warrior and this time, it may end up in serial production as well.

At this point, it’s hard to predict details, but we presume this would once again be a version of the truck with way more aggressive styling and a full load of off-road upgrades. Also, since Nissan does not offer a version with a Cummins diesel engine, we presume that this concept would come with a new gasoline unit.

Rumors suggest thing model could have its presentation by the end of this year.

Although there aren’t many reports about more precise details, we presume that the 2023 Nissan Titan Warrior would introduce us to the new generation of this pickup. It would bring new styling, new technical solutions and, once again, be based on a more rugged XD version. Naturally, we count on a full load of exclusive styling features, those that you wouldn’t be able to find in standard versions. For example, the previous concept came with a way more aggressive and muscular exterior styling compared to the regular Titan XD. It featured a redesigned front grille, wider fender flares, and a higher ride height, which gave it a more imposing stance on the road. The concept also had a matte-gunmetal finish and a set of massive 37-inch off-road tires.

Besides exclusive styling details, we would also expect to see lots of mechanical upgrades. This particularly refers to the suspension setup, where the 2023 Nissan Titan Warrion would be configured to handle the rough terrain, with a specially tuned off-road suspension system. The previous concept featured custom upper and lower control arms, beefed-up axles, and remote-reservoir shocks. The suspension has been lifted by three inches, providing greater ground clearance for off-road driving.

The 2023 Titan Warrior concept would also come equipped with a number of off-road accessories, such as, for example, LED lights mounted on the front bumper, a winch, and a set of recovery tracks mounted on the bed, as well as skid plates to protect its undercarriage during off-road driving

Interior

Of course, we expect the new generation’s interior to be presented in this concept but we also count on a lot of exclusive details, to match the aggressive exterior design. For example, the previous concept featured black and orange leather seats with contrast stitching, a leather-wrapped steering wheel, and a different center console with an integrated touchscreen display. The concept also had a custom sound system with ten speakers and a subwoofer, so we presume things would look even better in the new iteration.

As for the seating configuration, we presume that the new concept would be offered in a crew cab layout and a short bed.

2023 Nissan Titan Warrior Engine

The old Titan Warrior was equipped with a 5.0-liter Cummins V8 turbo diesel engine that delivers 310 horsepower and 555 lb-ft of torque. This engine is mated to a six-speed Aisin automatic transmission. That concept also featured a custom intake and exhaust system that helps to improve performance.

As this engine is no longer available in Titan, there are two possible outcomes for the new 2023 Nissan Titan Warrior. One is to see a familiar 5.6-liter V8, which currently puts out 400 horsepower and 413 pound-feet of torque, but which could be upgraded for this occasion. Still, we are pretty sure that the Japanese manufacturer would rather follow the latest trends in the segment and come with something smaller and more efficient. Allegedly, the new turbo V6 is in the works and many sources suggest that could be an upgraded variant of Frontier’s naturally-aspirated 3.8-liter unit.
