2023 Nissan Navara Pro-4X Preview: Specs, Changes, Features

0

In today’s automotive world, the pickup segment is significantly different compared to what it used to be just a few decades ago. These are not just utility vehicles anymore, but also vehicles that offer a high level of comfort and convenience, good ride quality and lots of standards and available equipment. The Navara is a perfect represent of this trend, with its refined powertrain and suspension setup. However, it can be pretty tough as well, especially if you pick versions for off-roading. Among them, the Pro-4X stands at the top of the offer, with a couple of notable upgrades over standard versions. The 2023 Nissan Navara Pro-4X is about to carry on in the same way, without more important updates.

This means that you may count on a pickup that offers decent off-road capability, in a combination with a smooth ride and refined powertrain. Furthermore, the Navara is spacious and well-looking from the inside, equipped with lots of tech and convenience features.

The 2023 Nissan Navara Pro-4X shouldn’t feature any notable updates, so presume it will hit the market sometime in the last quarter of the year.

2023 Nissan Navara Pro-4X Design

Design-wise, the 2023 Nissan Navara Pro-4X isn’t significantly different compared to the standard versions. The overall layout is the same, while the main differences come in terms of off-road upgrades. This version comes standard with Nissan’s familiar part-time 4WD system, which is a pretty versatile thing for those who plan to drive this truck in urban conditions as well. Speaking of the on-road ride, this aspect has always been one of Navara’s strongest points. Of course, the main reason is the five-link rear suspension with coil springs. That is still a pretty rare thing in the segment where traditional leaf springs dominate.

Besides mechanical upgrades, the Pro-4X also comes with lots of exclusive styling details. Some of the highlights are things like black 17-inch alloy wheels, all-season tires, blacked fender flares, blacked roof rails, door mirrors, grille, door handles, side steps.

Interior

Of course, you can find a couple of exclusive features on the inside as well. For example, you can find upgraded seats with leather inserts, which also come with “Pro-4X” logos, contrast stitching etc. Unique color schemes can be found too. Still, we have to say that most of the cabin looks pretty much the same as in the standard model.

THat’s not necessarily a bad thing, considering that this truck features one of the nicest cabins in the segment. It utilizes a lot of car-like elements, while the materials are mostly very nice. Furthermore, there is a fair amount of tech features, including a pretty intuitive infotainment system.

There are also various driver aids on the list of features, starting from hill descent control and hill start assist. You can also find safety features like blind-spot intervention, lane intervention, rear cross-traffic alert, forward collision warning, 360-view camera etc.

2023 Nissan Navara Pro-4X Engine

Under the hood, the 2023 Nissan Navara Pro-4X will continue with a refined setup that consists of a 2.3-liter turbodiesel engine and 7-speed automatic transmission. The engine puts out around 190 horsepower (140kW) and 450 Nm of torque, which is pretty much enough for solid driving dynamics. We particularly like the 7-speed automatic transmission, which is very refined and always shifts on time.

As we already mentioned, the Pro-4X comes standard with a part-time 4WD system. This means it can act as an RWD vehicle most of the time, while the 4WD mode can be engaged when needed. Of course, improved fuel economy would be one of the main benefits of such a system.

Speaking of the fuel economy, the company claims around 8L/100km.
