2021 GMC Sierra 1500: AT4 Interior, Redesign, Price, Colors

1

The current generation of the full-size truck has been launched recently but big changes are coming already for the 2021 GMC Sierra 1500. We presume you’re familiar with the story about Sierra’s interior, which hasn’t changed too much compared to the previous generation. The main reason was lack of time, but the fans were really disappointed. The company will finally make things right, as the all-cabin is coming for the next year. We are about to see a much more attractive layout, characterized by higher-quality materials, new aesthetical solutions and other things.

On the other side, the rest of the truck is about to remain the same. It is still early for some mid-cycle updates, so the styling will definitely remain the same. The same goes for engines, so you may count on five familiar powertrain options. Still, we won’t exclude the possibility to see a couple of additions in terms of standard features. The 2021 GMC Sierra 1500 will arrive in the second half of the year.

Without any doubt, the biggest change for the next year will be a completely redesigned cabin. We all know the story that’s behind the current dashboard design, so things will finally become better. If we can rely on the latest reports, the new layout will be heavily influenced by the new GMC Yukon, which has received a complete overhaul. The new cabin looks far more attractive and we are pretty sure that the 2021 GMC Sierra 1500 will look pretty similar, if not almost the same.

Of course, you can see a lot of new details, fine materials and more. However, one of the most interesting things is that the new Yukon comes with two different dashboards, one for the standard models and one for the hi-end Denali trim. The main difference is in the center stack, where standard models come with a tablet-like touchscreen. On the other side, the new Denali comes with a touchscreen that is integrated into the dash and such design provides a more premium feel. On the other side, dimensions and overall layout will remain pretty much the same.

When it comes to the exterior design, we don’t expect to see any particular changes for the next year. This is still a pretty fresh model, which looks pretty attractive. The new model looks bolder and more aggressive than its predecessor, while there are also various configurations in terms of cab designs and bed length. Also, keep in mind that the Denali trim comes with exclusive design characteristics, such as different grille, wheels etc. Also, there is a new AT4 model. It comes with enhanced styling but also with numerous mechanical upgrades, which make it a petty capable off-roader.

Features

Additions in terms of standard equipment are always possible, so we could see some of the novelties for the next year as well. The current model comes standard with tech goodies like a 7-inch touch screen, a six-speaker audio system (two speakers in Regular Cab models), Bluetooth, a USB port, Apple CarPlay, and Android Auto. Of course, there is much more in higher trims, where you can get navigation, a sunroof, dual-zone automatic climate control, keyless entry, remote start, a 120-volt power outlet, wireless device charging, an 8-inch touch screen, a seven-speaker Bose audio system, satellite radio, HD Radio, a Wi-Fi hot spot, additional USB ports, voice recognition etc.

When it comes to safety features, a rearview camera is the only one that comes standard. Fortunately, there are numerous available features, starting from automatic high-beam headlights, adaptive cruise control, lane keep assist, lane departure warning, lane change alert, blind spot monitoring, rear cross traffic alert, front and rear parking sensors, forward collision warning, low-speed forward automatic braking, pedestrian detection, a surround-view camera system and many more.

2021 GMC Sierra Engines

This aspect won’t bring any bigger change for the next year. Therefore, base models will carry on with a 4.3-liter V6, which delivers around 285 horsepower and 305 pound-feet of torque. There is also a new-generation 2.7-liter turbo-four, which delivers quite impressive 310 horsepower and 348 pound-feet of torque.

When it comes to V8 units, there are two well-known options. The first one is a 5.3-liter with 355 horsepower and 383 pound-feet of torque. The second one is a 6.2-liter engine that puts out 420 horses and 460 lb-ft of torque.

Finally, there is a diesel version, which uses a 3.0-liter V6 turbodiesel, with a max output of 277 horsepower and 460 pound-feet of torque.

Release Date and Price

The 2021 GMC Sierra 1500 is expected to hit the market sometime in the second half of the year. We don’t expect bigger changes in price, so base versions should go around 30.000 dollars. Of course, key competitors are models like Ford F-150, Ram 1500, Toyota Tundra and Nissan Titan.

  1. I would like for someone to confirm that GMC’s Sierra 1500 2021 interior will actually be updated per a number of articles from this site. I really want to purchase a new GMC but would really like the new updated interior that is being talked about for 2021 here, which will be similar to the newly redesigned Yukon/XL . Is there confirmation of any type available of the updated interior coming in the 2021 model year? Everything else I’m reading is saying the new interior for the Sierra 1500 will not be released until 2022? Thanks, Dave
