The launch of the so-much awaited next-generation Tundra has been delayed for the 2022 model year, but that doesn’t mean we won’t see any novelty for the next year, as the 2021 Toyota Tundra Nightshade is on the way. This is the latest edition that comes from the Japanese manufacturer and is available across the company’s lineup, eight models in total. Tundra is among them.
This package is all about visual upgrades. No matter that we are talking about the package that is available in various types of vehicles, including SUVs and sedans, the approach is the same. It’s mostly about blacked exterior and interior, which brings an additional dose of attractiveness. It looks particularly great in Tundra.
2021 Toyota Tundra Nightshade Exterior
ALthgough essentially a pretty common Tundra, this version looks very distinctive, thanks to a plethora of interesting details. When it comes to the exterior design, you will notice a lot of them. An interesting thing is that the truck comes with various colors in the offer, including Midnight Black Metallic, Magnetic Gray Metallic, and Super White. The 2021 Toyota Tundra Nightshade is also available in the new Windchill Pearl finish. Still, keep in mind this finish means additional cost.
Still, the actual thing about this package is that the company has blacked pretty much everything. This includes a black chrome grille, large 20-inch black wheels, as well as blacked door handles, mirror caps, exhaust pipes etc. The thing we should mention is that the 2021 Toyota Tundra Nightshade is essentially a Limited trim, so that’s the reason why wheels look familiar, only darker.
Once again, it’s mostly about making things darker. Therefore, you will find a familiar cabin layout, though the seats are black, as well as the rest of the interior. Black leather seats look particularly attractive. When it comes to dimensions and overall layout, things are pretty familiar.
As we already mentioned, this is essentially a Limited trim. So, you may count on pretty much the same list of standard equipment. Therefore, the list of standard features is pretty long and includes things like an 8-inch touch screen, an auto-dimming rearview mirror, a universal garage door opener, fog lights, and a sliding horizontal rear window. Furthermore, things like navigation, LED headlights and fog lights, a deck rail system with four adjustable tie-down cleats, dual-zone automatic climate control, leather upholstery, heated front bucket seats, a 10-way power-adjustable driver’s seat, a six-way power-adjustable passenger seat, a leather-wrapped steering wheel, proximity keyless entry, and a power sliding rear window are also on the list of standard features.
When it comes to safety, the famous Toyota Safety Sense P is standard. Therefore, you may count on systems like adaptive cruise control, forward collision warning, pedestrian detection, automatic emergency braking, lane departure warning, automatic high-beam headlights etc. Additionally, you can get things like front and rear parking sensors, blind spot monitoring, and rear cross traffic alert.
2021 Toyota Tundra Nightshade Engine
As we already mentioned, this package is all about visual upgrades, so things under the hood will remain the same. That means you may count on a well-known 5.7-liter V8 engine, which delivers around 381 horsepower and 401 pound-feet of torque. It comes in pair with a 6-speed automatic transmission, which ensures a pretty smooth ride. Driving dynamics are pretty good, while the strongest point of this engine is pretty much unparalleled reliability. On the other side, it is also pretty thirsty. You may count on 13 mpg in the city and 17 mpg on the highway. These are the lowest ratings in the class.
2021 Toyota Tundra Nightshade Release Date and Price
The 2021 Toyota Tundra Nightshade will hit the market sometime in the second half of the year. We are still waiting for details about the price.
