2023 Ram 1500 Facelift: Limited, Redesign, Changes, Rumors and Hybrid

0

The current generation of Ram’s half-ton pickup has been around for a while and if we consider that the class leader, Ford F-150 has been redesigned recently, as well as the Silverado is coming with a new interior, it makes sense to expect changes for the 2023 Ram 1500 as well. At this point, the officials are still quiet, but we presume that the next year’s model could receive a mid-cycle refresh.

At this point, it’s hard to tell which kinds of changes would occur but we presume that the focus would be on the exterior styling. On the other hand, the interior is still the best in class, so there is no reason for updates, except for some new tech features. Finally, we don’t expect that the powertrain lineup could change too much.

The 2023 Ram 1500 should arrive sometime in the second half of the next year.

2023 Ram 1500 Design

When it comes to base design characteristics, the 2023 Ram 1500 shouldn’t change too much. The current model still offers a class-leading driving experience, thanks to an advanced suspension setup that provides great comfort and strong capabilities at the same time. Also, the truck is efficient and well-built, so there is no need for updates regarding basic features.

On the other hand, one of the rare complaints about the current model is about the styling. It’s far from unappealing but somehow, rivals look more attractive. That’s why we believe that the 2023 Ram 1500 could bring a few updates, especially at the front. We believe this could be a perfect time to make some revisions to the grille, headlights, bumper etc. Of course, mid-cycle refreshes usually bring things like new color options, new wheels etc. So, we may expect something like that as well.

Interior

On the other hand, we don’t expect to see too many interior changes. Simply, the current model already features the nicest cabin in the class, characterized by attractive aesthetics, fine materials and great overall build quality. Even the base models look nice, while the range-topping variants feature a level of luxury that’s on par with many SUVs and crossovers.

Trim Levels

We believe that the trim level organization will remain the same. Of course, each model could get some novelties, but essentials should remain the same. In other words, the offer should start from the Tradesman, which is a pretty basic version of the truck. It comes with steel wheels, manual accessories, a 5-inch touchscreen etc.

The Big Horn or Lonestar features few upgrades, such as power accessories, alloy wheels, fog lights etc.

The Laramie is next in the line and it brings a nice batch of upgrades. Some of the things that come to mind are leather seats, 8.4-touchscreen, heated and ventilated seats etc.

The Longhorn already steps up into the area of luxury. It comes with goodies like side steps, heated rear seats, navigation, front and rear parking sensors etc.

Finally, there is the Limited trim, which comes standard with a 12.0-inch touchscreen, air suspension, premium seats and many more.

For those who care about off-road capabilities, the Rebel trim offers features like upgraded suspension, unique styling details, hill descent control, skid plates, electronic locking rear axle etc. The Rebel TRX offers even more, starting from a 2-inch lift, off-road tires, solid rear axle, electronic locking rear differential and, most importantly, the monstrous 6.2-liter Supercharged V8 engine with a max output of 702 horsepower.

2023 Ram 1500 Engines

Under the hood, the 2023 Ram 1500 should continue with familiar engine options. So, the offer should start with a 3.6-liter Pentastar V6, which delivers around 305 horsepower. For those who prefer eight cylinders, there is a 5.7-liter HEMI engine, which puts out around 395 horsepower and 410 pound-feet of torque. Also, there is a diesel version, equipped with a 3.0-liter V6 turbodiesel, which puts out around 260 horsepower and 480 pound-feet of torque. Finally, there is the aforementioned 6.2-liter Supercharged V8 with 702 horsepower, reserved for the TRX model.

All engines come in pair with a well-designed 8-speed automatic transmission.

2023 Ram 1500 Release Date and Price

We expect to see the 2023 Ram 1500 sometime in the second half of 2022. When it comes to the price, base models should go around 32.000 dollars.
