Allegedly, we are about to see a mid-cycle refresh, and this refresh will reportedly bring novelties in various aspects. Besides typical cosmetic updates, it looks like we are about to see a new engine as well.
Interior updates are expected too. The light-duty model has finally received a new cabin design, so we might see something similar in the HD lineup as well. Naturally, we also count on more features, as well as on more driver’s assistance goodies.

2023 Chevy Silverado HD Could Get New Engine
Without any doubt, the most anticipated change for the 2023 Chevy Silverado HD is under the hood. It looks like Chevy is about to get a new engine. More precisely, we are about to see a new version of the current 6.6-liter Duramax unit and the new version is expected to feature more than 500 horsepower.
Some sources speculate about the exact numbers. According to them, the 2023 Silverado HD will feature a max output of 525 horsepower and 1.085 pound-feet of torque. That would put Silverado HD above rivals from Ford and RAM, both in terms of power and torque. Also, this should bring improvements regarding max towing capacity, which currently goes up to 36.000 pounds.
For reference, the current version of the 6.6-liter Duramax engine puts out around 445 horsepower and 910 pound-feet of torque.
On the other hand, the gasoline version should carry on in the same way. So, you may count on a familiar 6.6-liter V8, which puts out around 401 horsepower and 464 pound-feet of torque.
Both engines come in pair with a 10-speed automatic transmission.

Other than the new engine, the 2023 Chevy Silverado HD should also come with some aesthetical changes. This should be a typical mid-cycle refresh, so we could see some revisions at the front, in areas like the grille, headlights, bumper etc. On the other hand, mechanical updates aren’t expected.
Another possible novelty is the introduction of an off-road-oriented model. Rival companies already have such variants on the offer, such as Power Wagon or Tremor. As the demand for such pickups is growing, we might see a similar version of Silverado as well. Interior updates are also possible. As you probably know, the light-duty version has just received a new cabin design, finally. So, we may see something similar from the 2023 Chevy Silverado HD as well. Still, keep in mind that the base version of Silverado 1500 has kept the old cabin, so something similar could happen to HD models as well. The officials are still quiet on this matter, so we will have to wait for a little bit more to hear something from the spokesman.
