Therefore, it’s no wonder that the Blue Oval company is working on the next generation. The testing model has already been spotted a couple of times and it looks like the production will start next year. The new generation will come as the 2023 Ford Ranger and we expect to see all kinds of improvements, compared to the current model.
Like any other redesign, this one will also bring a completely new styling. On the other side, we won’t see an all-new platform, but rather an improved version of the current one. Naturally, big novelties are expected on the inside as well, while the engine lineup should include a couple of novelties too. Finally, rumors say that the Ranger Raptor will finally come to North America.
We are still waiting to hear from the officials, but it is pretty much for sure that the new generation will arrive in the next year.
2023 Ford Ranger Redesign
Without any doubt, this redesign will bring a lot of novelties. However, the platform won’t be all-new. Instead, we will see significant upgrades and updates on the current T6 architecture. Various reports also suggest that the Australian department will once again take charge of the development. We count on improvements, particularly in terms of ride quality, considering that the current model isn’t particularly comfortable.
Naturally, the 2023 Ford Ranger will also bring a completely new styling. The test mule has been spotted on the road but it still wears a heavy camouflage, so we can’t talk about details. However, we may presume that the new model will take a lot of inspiration from the new F-150, which means we may expect mostly evolutionary changes.
Interior
The cabin design is definitely one of the weakest points of the current generation. It features an outdated design, which is full of older-generation aesthetical solutions and also features mostly low-rent materials. The build quality could be better as well. Therefore, we count on a notable improvement in the new model. Besides new aesthetics and higher-quality materials, we also count on loads of new tech features. Of course, the first thing that comes to mind is the new infotainment system, but we also count on loads of driver aids.
Considering that the new 2023 Ford Ranger will ride on the same platform, we presume that the new model won’t change too much regarding the size. So, the amount of passenger space should remain pretty similar as well. Just like in the current model, the new one should also come with a few different configurations in the offer, including single and double cab layouts, as well as different bed sizes.

This aspect shouldn’t bring bigger surprises. The 2023 Ford Ranger should come standard with a 2.3-liter turbo-four engine, the same one found in the new Bronco. If that happens, count on the same design approach. Compared to standard versions, this model will come with all kinds of upgrades, starting from a more rugged suspension setup and some pretty serious off-road hardware.
Furthermore, we also count on a lot of exclusive styling details. Of course, a lot of inspiration should be taken from the F-150 Raptor, in terms of the grille design, bumpers and a whole bunch of details. The same goes for the interior design.
Still, the most interesting part of the new Ranger Raptor would definitely be the engine. If we can trust the latest reports, that will be a 2.7-liter V6, which puts out around 325 horsepower and 400 pound-feet of torque. Of course, it would come in pair with a 10-speed automatic transmission.
2023 Ford Ranger Release Date and Price
We believe that the 2023 Ford Ranger could arrive sometime in the second half of the next year. Base models should go around 27.000 dollars, while the key competitors will be models like Chevy Colorado, Jeep Gladiator, Nissan Frontier etc.
