It will come with a full load of novelties, which should make it far more relevant on the market where key players are models like Toyota Tacoma, Chevy Colorado etc. Another way to stand out could be a hi-performance version, which would come as the 2022 Frontier NISMO. At this point, the officials are still quiet about this version, but we can hear a lot of rumors.
If it arrives, we have no doubt that this version would come with all kinds of upgrades. Naturally, the focus would be on the suspension setup, which would be stiffer and much closer to the ground. Of course, we would see the styling that accentuates the model’s hi-performance character, while a more powerful engine is also an option.

Of course, the 2022 Nissan Frontier NISMO would use the standard version as the basis. This one is coming completely new after 15 years and it will bring tons of novelties, even though it will also ride on the good-old F-Alpha platform. New suspension and chassis setup, new styling and interior are just some of the things that come to mind. Naturally, this version would come with further upgrades.
We presume the new pickup truck would get a typical NISMO treatment. We would expect to see a new suspension setup, which would get this truck much closer to the ground. Also, we count on upgraded brakes and lots of NISMO’s trademark styling details. This includes things like bumpers, diffusers, wheels, tires, exclusive color options etc. Moreover, we can already see a couple of interesting rendering photos on the network.
Interior
Interior upgrades are expected as well. We will see a lot of exclusive details, but the overall cabin layout won’t be much different. We count on all the goodies that will come with the new generation. This means a significant upgrade in terms of quality. Better fit and finish, much nicer materials and modern aesthetics are the first things that come to mind. Furthermore, you may count on a lot of tech goodies, including a 9.0-inch infotainment screen.
When it comes to exclusive details, we count on things like unique upholstery and color schemes, sportier seats, some stitching, NISMO badges and maybe even an upgraded instrument cluster. We presume that the 2022 Nissan Frontier NISMO would come exclusively in a Double Cab layout.
2022 Nissan Frontier NISMO Engine
This is a bit of a mystery at the moment. The company already presented the new engine for the new generation. It is a 3.8-liter V6, which puts out around 310 horsepower and 271 pound-feet of torque. It comes in pair with a 9-speed automatic transmission, which does a pretty good job. Fuel economy goes around 18 mpg in the city and 24 mpg on the highway.
For the 2022 Nissan Frontier NISMO, some engine upgrades sound possible. We doubt that this version could bring some significant upgrade in terms of a turbocharger or something like that. Instead, the same engine with slightly increased output seems like the most probable option.
2022 Nissan Frontier NISMO Release Date and Price
At this point, the 2022 Nissan Frontier NISMO is just a rumor. On the other side, standard models will hit the market in the summer. When it comes to the price, we presume that this version would go over 40.000 dollars. On the other side, base models will probably cost around $28.000.
