2022 Jeep Gladiator Mojave: Specs, Engine and Features

0

The current generation of Jeep’s pickup truck has been around since 2019 and that clearly indicates that no bigger changes are about to come for the next year. We expect to see a familiar design, which also means we should see familiar versions in the offer. This truck comes in several variants and while all of them are capable, some go pretty extreme. We have no doubt that the 2022 Jeep Gladiator Mojave will continue to be one of these models, a pickup truck that comes with so many upgrades and offers exceptional performances when it comes to off-roading.

This particular version has the most similarities with the Rubicon but comes with even more upgrades. Of course, exclusive features are mostly in terms of off-road hardware, but you may count on a couple of unique styling details as well. We don’t believe that the next year could bring any bigger update, though there is always room for minor tweaks, such as new color options, new accessories etc. In any case, the launch date shouldn’t be scheduled for any earlier date than the last quarter.

2022 Jeep Gladiator Mojave Design and Features

Of course, this model is based on the standard Gladiator. Base design features are pretty much the same, but this particular version comes with a plethora of upgrades. Some of the first things that come to mind are larger 2.5” Fox shocks, which come with internal bypasses and external reservoirs. Also, you may count on hydraulic jounce dampers, which are highly beneficial at higher speeds. Another thing we should mention is that the front end has been lifted by an inch compared to Rubicon, so the ground clearance goes over 12 inches.

Compared to standard models, the 2022 Jeep Gladiator Mojave will continue to feature additional chassis reinforcements, as well as things like cast-iron steering knuckles, and a thicker rear axle. The list of standard features will also include goodies like locking differential, steel skid plate, modified anti-roll bars, and a wider rear track for more stability.

2022 Jeep Gladiator Mojave Engine

When it comes to powertrain, the 2022 Jeep Gladiator Mojave will continue to rely on a good-old 3.6-liter V6 engine, which puts out around 285 horsepower and 260 pound-feet of torque. A great thing is that you can choose between a 6-speed manual and 8-speed automatic transmission. The overall performance is pretty good but keep in mind that all the aforementioned off-road upgrades compromise max towing capacity. While standard models can tow up to 7.000 pounds, this version is good for about 6.000.

When it comes to fuel economy, you may count on something like 16 mpg in the city and 22 mpg on the highway. Still, take these numbers with a big reserve, as the actual consumption largely depends on the terrain and your driving style.

Interior

Although fully loaded with off-road features, the 2022 Jeep Gladiator Mojave won’t be much different from the inside when compared to the rest of the lineup. So, you may count on a typical crew cab layout and cabin layout that combines modern and retro design solutions, with materials that are rather durable than fine.

Also, the list of standard equipment is more than decent. You may count on goodies like a leather steering wheel, cruise control, heated and power-adjustable mirrors etc. Also, there are several safety features on the list of standard equipment, such as stability control, traction control, rollover protection system etc. If you’re willing to pay extra, you can get pretty much every option Jeep has on the offer for Gladiator, whether it’s about tech, convenience or safety features.

2022 Jeep Gladiator Mojave Release Date and Price

Considering that there are no bigger changes to come, we presume that the 2022 Jeep Gladiator Mojave will hit the market sometime in the last quarter of the year, with the starting price of around 44.000 dollars.
