By The world of pickup trucks is getting bigger every year and the competition is getting tougher and tougher. Therefore, it’s no wonder that Nissan did a facelift of its popular pickup, which is offered globally. The new version was presented last September and it has brought a fine amount of novelties. Therefore, it seems quite certain that the 2022 Nissan Navara will carry on in the same way, which means you may count on a pickup that still has a lot of things to offer, despite it has been around since 2014.
This pickup may not be as popular as Hilux or Ranger but still has a pretty big fanbase. The thing we all like about it is that it offers a great ride quality, without sacrificing capabilities. The updated model looks pretty attractive too, while the cabin is packed with all kinds of safety and tech features. Since there are no bigger changes to come, we expect that the 2022 Nissan Navara will hit the market sometime in the last quarter of the year.
2022 Nissan Navara Redesign
Considering the recent update, we are pretty sure that the 2022 Nissan Navara won’t feature more important changes. Of course, the mechanical aspect didn’t change too much for this occasion, so things are mostly the same as in the initial model. However, the Japanese manufacturer did a couple of changes, particularly in terms of the rear axle. As a result, the payload capacity has been improved.
As you may presume, the central part of the recent update belongs to the facelift. We saw a plethora of visual changes, mostly at the front. While the shape of headlights has remained the same, the grille is completely new and it completely changes the picture of the truck. It is bigger and features a massive chrome frame, which makes the truck look a lot like the North American Titan.
Of course, there is also the new Pro-4X version, which brings a number of upgrades. Unfortunately, most of them are in terms of aesthetics, while the mechanical aspect remains pretty much the same. Furthermore. There are several styling details that emphasize its off-road character. Raised suspension, black plastics, blacked grille, off-road tires etc.
Interior
This aspect shouldn’t bring any particular change either. Even the recent update wasn’t particularly generous with novelties in this aspect, so it’s hard to expect anything more only a year later. Still, we saw two important updates, in terms of tech features. Of course, the first one is the new 8-inch touchscreen, while the second one is a 7-inch screen on the instrument cluster.
Other than these two, things have remained pretty much the same as in the initial model and the 2022 Nissan Navara will carry on in the same way. You may count on a cabin that offers a typical truck layout, though we have to say that the actual comfort is pretty impressive, thanks to the smooth ride, comfortable seats and good sound insulation.
2022 Nissan Navara Engines
Things under the hood will certainly remain the same. In most of the markets, the 2022 Nissan Navara will continue with a familiar 2.3-liter turbodiesel, which comes in two output variants, with either 160 or 190 horsepower, and a max torque of 300 and 330 pound-feet, respectively. On certain markets, you can also get a 2.5-liter naturally-aspirated gasoline unit, which is good for about 150 horsepower.
Both the 6-speed manual and 7-speed automatic transmissions are available.
2022 Nissan Navara Release Date and Price
We expect to see 2022 Nissan Navara sometime in the last quarter of the year. The UK models start at around £22,350 for the chassis cab model, while crew cab models start at around 35.000 Euro in most countries of Europe. Of course, key competitors are models like Mitsubishi L200, Isuzu D-Max, Toyota Hilux etc.
