The cooperation with GM has ended and the new model was developed by Japanese engineers only. The company promises excellent performances, while we can already see huge improvements in terms of styling and interior design.
2021 Isuzu D-Max Redesign
The first thing we should mention about this redesign is that the new model is no longer in close relationship with Chevy Colorado. This is an all-new model, which rides on a completely new platform and brings significant improvements. The company promises a chassis that will bring performances to the next level. Of course, this includes both better off-road performances and towing capacity. Still, this aspect has never been a problem for the D-Max.
On the other side, we are about to see significant improvements in terms of styling. This truck has always been famous for excellent working characteristics, but aesthetics have never been its strong point. This has finally changed, as the new generation comes with a completely new styling, which looks very attractive. Of course, the biggest changes are those at the front, where you can see a completely new face, characterized by a large and massive grille, which is combined with sharp and quite narrow headlights. All in all, the new 2021 Isuzu D-Max will definitely be among the best-looking models in the class.
Interior
The exterior has brought some significant improvements, but the new interior looks even more impressive. Compared to the predecessor, the differences are huge as a mountain. Instead of hard plastics and pretty basic dashboard design, the new model comes with a stylish and pretty upscale cabin, full of hi-quality materials. The dashboard features a completely new look, while there are also new seats, more massive and supportive than before. Also, you can notice a large 9-inch touchscreen at the center console, which comes with a new infotainment system that also supports Apple CarPlay, Android Auto and many other tech goodies.

2021 Isuzu D-Max Engines
The company has recently presented a new 3.0-liter turbodiesel, which will be offered in South East Asia, Australia and many more markets. It will be available in two output variants, with either 175 horsepower and 320 pound-feet of torque, and 190 horsepower and 330 pound-feet of torque. With such numbers, the new model will definitely be on par with rivals and we count on some of the highest towing capacities in the class, definitely over 7.700 pounds.
On the other side, we might see something smaller in Europe. Also, keep in mind that some reports suggest the 2021 Isuzu D-Max could also come to North America. If that happens, we should also see gasoline options in the offer. Considering that the new Mazda BT-50 will be based on the D-Max, it won’t be a surprise if we see a D-Max with some of Mazda’s gasoline engines. A well-known 2.5-liter SkyActive G seems quite possible.
2021 Isuzu D-Max Release Date and Price
The 2021 Isuzu D-Max is about to arrive sometime in the second half of 2020. The price largely depends on the market, but in most parts of the world, base models go around 25.000 dollars.
