By Not so long ago, the all-electric powertrain was reserved for small cars only, while pickup trucks seemed like a distant future. Things are much different these days, so it’s no wonder that the latest reports suggest that the all-electric version of the most popular truck in the world is just a couple of years away from us. If we can rely on the latest reports, it looks like the new model will come already as Ford F-150 Electric. Of course, take this with a reserve, as we are still waiting for details.
When it comes to design and features, it looks like the new truck will be heavily based on the regular, internal-combustion version. We are about to see the same design, which may look interesting to some. On the other side, keeping the famous nameplate makes perfect sense, as it’s the best way to popularize the future truck.
Ford F-150 Electric Specs
Of course, it is still way too early to talk about numbers. Still, it’s no secret that we all have big expectations. This particularly refers to the range. Anything less than 300 miles would be a disappointment.
Numbers may be a mystery at the moment but on the other side, an interesting fact is that Ford is a big shareholder of the startup company Rivian, which prepares an all-electric pickup truck for the next year. This model will come in three variants, with three different battery packs (105kWh, 135kWh and 180kWh), as well as in different output versions.
Therefore, we have no doubt that the Ford F-150 Electric will at least use some of the design solutions and technologies from this model. In any case, we expect excellent performances, huge amounts of torque and power. We presume that the fastest versions would be able to hit 60mph in just three seconds, more than capable to compete with the upcoming Tesla Pickup.
How will Ford F-150 Electric look like?
At this point, it is hard to say too much about this aspect of the new truck. As we already mentioned, the new electric pickup truck will use a familiar nameplate, which may indicate the same design solutions as well. After all, the testing model has been spotted recently and it features pretty much the same styling as the current-generation model, with some exceptions of course.
All this leads us to the conclusion that the Ford F-150 Electric and conventional models from F-Series will probably be in a pretty tight connection. Of course, this version would come with several distinctive details, to accentuate its all-electric nature. On the other side, the cabins of new models should look very similar.
The new version of the F-150 is about to come next year and we have no doubt that the Ford F-150 Electric will carry its revised styling and interior design.

The latest reports are suggesting that the Ford F-150 Electric is just a couple of years away from us and that the new truck is about to hit the market in the second half of 2021. When it comes to the price, most reports suggest that base models will go around 100.000 dollars.
