2023 Ram 1500 Rebel TRX Is Getting Even More Power!?

0

The current generation of Ram’s light-duty pickup truck has been around since 2019 and it seems logical that the company prepares a mid-cycle refresh for the next year. We are about to see a typical facelift and these changes will come with all versions of the truck, including the 2023 Ram 1500 Rebel TRX. The hottest Ram pickup on the market stands out for brutal engine power, but also comes with lots of exclusive features, whether it’s about aesthetics or mechanics.

Besides typical mid-cycle updates, the 2023 Ram 1500 Rebel TRX could also come with big upgrades under the hood. According to some reports, the mighty Hellcat could get even more power, considering that the new F-150 Raptor R is coming with the same engine as Shelby GT500.

In any case, we expect that the next year’s model will hit the market sometime in the second half of 2022.

2023 Ram 1500 Rebel TRX Design

As we’ve just mentioned, the popular light-duty pickup is about to receive a mid-cycle refresh. We expect to see a lot of new things, starting from the updated face, which should include things like a new grille, bumper etc. All these novelties should be implemented into the 2023 Ram 1500 Rebel TRX as well, though this version will certainly continue with its exclusive features. In terms of the styling, that would be things like a massive blacked grille, black fender flares and many other parts of the vehicle. Of course, there are also unique wheels, with off-road tires and other styling details that clearly accentuate the model’s off-road character.

Speaking of the off-road character, this pickup offers a lot of upgrades you can’t get in standard Ram pickup models. The list of off-road goodies is long and starts with the upgraded suspension, which includes Bilstein adaptive dampers. The ground clearance has been raised too, while 35-inch all-terrain tires are part of the standard equipment as well. Furthermore, you may count on a locking rear differential, upgraded engine cooling system, skid plates, upgraded exhaust, upgraded brakes etc.

Interior

On the inside, this pickup isn’t much different than other Ram 1500 models. It also offers a high-quality interior, which combines an attractive dashboard design with nice materials and lots of tech features. The standard TRX comes with rather basic features, but a good thing is that you can get a lot of optional upgrades. Some of the highlights are leather seats with carbon fiber and microsuede.

The Rebel TRX comes exclusively in a Crew Cab layout, with a short bed. It comes standard with lots of tech features, starting from a massive 12.0-inch touchscreen, Apple CarPlay, Android Auto, navigation, satellite radion, 19-speaker audio system etc.

2023 Ram 1500 Rebel TRX Engine

This is the most impressive part of the truck without any doubt. Of course, we are talking about the famous 6.2-liter Supercharged Hellcat engine, which puts out around 702 horsepower. However, Ford is preparing a new version of Raptor, called the Raptor R, which will use the same 5.2-liter Supercharged V8 as the Shelby GT500. Allegedly, this engine will feature a max output of 750 horsepower.

So, Ram prepares an answer, if we can trust the latest reports. Allegedly, we will see a more powerful version of the Hellcat engine, with nearly 800 horsepower. FCA already did the same thing with the most capable variants of the Charger and Challenger, so this shouldn’t be a surprise.

Of course, the engine would continue in pair with the excellent 8-speed ZF transmission. Also, may hope that Ram could introduce a new mode selector, which would add the RWD mode, something that’s not available in the current version.
