By According to the latest reports, the popular pickup is about to receive a mid-cycle refresh for the next year. Besides typical changes, it looks like we could see another interesting novelty. That novelty would come in the form of the 2023 Ram 1500 Outdoorsman. Allegedly, the company plans to bring back this version, which was available in the previous generation.
This model would feature all kinds of upgrades. Of course, the first ones that come to mind are those in terms of off-road upgrades. However, this version should also come with a lot of towing hardware, while certain visual upgrades are also expected. We expect that this version will be offered across the whole range and it will be available in different body styles, as well as with different engines on the offer.
2023 Ram 1500 Outdoorsman Design
From what we can hear, the 2023 Ram 1500 Outdoorsman will be part of the upcoming mid-cycle refresh. So, first of all, count on the updates that will come to all versions. This particularly refers to the new front end, which should feature things like new headlights, new grille, bumper etc.
More importantly, this model would come with a full load of exclusive features in various aspects. When it comes to aesthetics, we would expect to see goodies like blacked bumpers, different grille design, blacked side mirrors, wheels etc.
Still, off-road upgrades are far more important. We expect that the Outdoorsman would come standard with things like locking rear differential, upgraded shock absorbers, skid plates, hill descent control, tow hooks and similar things.
Finally, count on a number of towing features, such as a Class IV receiver hitch, trailer brake controller, trailer light check, trailer reverse steering control, trailer tire pressure monitoring etc.
Interior
Certain exclusive interior features are possible too but we are pretty sure that most of the cabin will look the same as in other models. This means that the 2023 Ram 1500 Outdoorsman would come with a high-quality interior, which combines quality materials and great build quality. Furthermore, it’s important to keep in mind that this version would be offered across the whole lineup, which means that you may count on a wide range of versions regarding standard features.
Furthermore, we count on different cab styles on the offer, as well as on different bed sizes. Those should be a Quad Cab with a 6-foot, 4-inch bed, a Crew Cab with a 5-foot, 7-inch bed, or a Crew Cab with a 6-foot, 4-inch bed.
2023 Ram 1500 Outdoorsman Engines
We expect that the 2023 Ram 1500 Outdoorsman would come with all four powertrain options on offer. So, base models would feature a familiar 3.6-liter V6, which features a max output of 305 horsepower and 269 pound-feet of torque, and which comes equipped with a mild-hybrid system called eTorque.
The well-known 5.7-liter HEMI V8 is next in the line and it can be configured with or without the same mild-hybrid system. In both cases, the max output goes around 395 horsepower and 410 pound-feet of torque.
Finally, there is a diesel version, which comes with a 3.0-liter V6, which puts out around 260 horsepower and 480 pound-feet of torque.
All engines come in pair with an 8-speed ZF automatic transmission.
2023 Ram 1500 Outdoorsman Release Date
We expect that the 2023 Ram 1500 Outdoorsman will come along with the rest of the lineup, probably sometime in the last quarter of the year. Details about the price are yet to be announced.
