By The competition among full-size pickups is tougher than ever, so it’s no wonder that we are seeing interesting updates every year. In the case of Ram’s model, we will see a new optional package, called the G/T Package. It will offer a number of interesting upgrades over standard models, particularly in terms of features. Furthermore, we will also see a few unique styling details. The 2022 Ram 1500 G/T Package will be available with Laramie and Rebel trim levels.
Despite the upgrades, the essentials won’t change. Mechanically, this truck will be like any other Ram and from what we know so far, it will be sold exclusively with a V8 engine and mid-hybrid system. We expect to see it on the market along with other models of the lineup, sometime late in the year.
2022 Ram 1500 G/T Package Redesign
When it comes to the overall design, we won’t see any particular modification. The most distinctive part of the G/T Package will actually be big G/T decals on the rear fenders, as well as a unique sports hood. However, the overall look will remain pretty much unchanged. In other words, it all depends on what trim level you pick, so your G/T package can look more like a standard Laramie or like a standard Rebel. On the rear end, you can also notice a cat-back exhaust, while cold air intake is another upgrade worth mentioning.
On the inside, there is no room for bigger upgrades. The most unique details will be all-season floor mats. Furthermore, you may count on paddle shifters, something you can’t get in standard Laramie.
Features
Naturally, this package will be mostly about unique features. Besides exclusive styling details, this version will be characterized by a list of exclusive features. Some of the highlights are goodies like paddle shifters, a console-mounted gear lever (no turn dial), unique bucket seats with high bolsters and a metal pedal kit. That’s something you already have in the Rebel trim, but something new for the Laramie model.
In terms of tech goodies, you may count on a slightly upgraded infotainment system, which measures things like 0-60 mph times and G-forces.
2022 Ram 1500 G/T Package Engine
The 2022 Ram 1500 G/T Package will be available with just one engine option. That would be a familiar 5.7-liter HEMI V8 engine, which comes equipped with a mild-hybrid system called e-Torque. Just like the version without this mild-hybrid system, it features a max output that goes around 395 horsepower and 410 pound-feet of torque but the company claims better fuel economy. The power is sent through a smooth-shifting 8-speed automatic transmission.
With this setup, you may count on an average fuel economy of 17 mpg in the city and 23 mpg on the highway.
2022 Ram 1500 G/T Package Release Date and Price
We expect that the 2022 Ram 1500 G/T Package will arrive along with other models in the lineup. When it comes to the price, the Rebel G/T will go around $57,070, while the Laramie G/T will start at $57,175.
