Base models will continue with a new 6.6-liter gasoline V8 engine. It delivers around 401 horsepower and 464 pound-feet of torque. This engine comes in pair with a 6-speed automatic transmission.
A well-known 6.6-liter Duramax turbodiesel V8 has been updated for the recent redesign and now delivers more power and torque. The exact numbers go around 445 horsepower and 910 pound-feet of torque and it is the first choice of most Sierra HD buyers. This engine comes with a new 10-speed automatic transmission.
Both engines are great in terms of working capabilities. Still, a diesel option is an obvious choice for towing. With this engine, a, properly equipped 2021 GMC Sierra 2500HD will be able to tow more than 18.500 pounds.
Exterior and Interior

Finally, there is the famous Denali trim level, which comes with a full load of standard equipment and also comes with various exclusive styling details, including the different grille, wheels, steering wheel and more.
