2020 Nissan Titan Pro-4X Off-Road Pickup: Release Date and Price

0

While the original version of this truck was in production for a full 12 years, it becomes obvious that the Japanese manufacturer doesn’t intend to repeat such a long production cycle with the current model. The current generation of the Titan has been around for about four years and a mid-cycle update is on its way. Besides typical visual and interior changes, the upcoming refresh will also bring a completely new version, called 2020 Nissan Titan Pro-4X. This will be a performance version of the truck designed especially for the off-road drive. We expect to see it by the end of the year.

2020 Nissan Titan Pro-4X Redesign

The test model of the refreshed Titan has been spotted on the road. Moreover, it looks like the test mule is actually a new 2020 Nissan Titan Pro-4X. This will be an off-road version of the full-size truck, so it is about to compete with models like Toyota Tundra TRD Pro, Ford Raptor etc. Just like the rest of the lineup, it will come with new styling solutions. The testing model still wears camouflage and the only thing we can see are new LED daytime running lights. The rest of the truck is still a mystery. Still, we have no doubt that most of the changes will come at the front, though the rear end is also camouflaged, so we expect a couple of tweaks in that area too.

2020 Nissan Titan Pro-4X Features

Without any doubt, the 2020 Nissan Titan Pro-4X will come with a bunch of exclusive features. This refers both to mechanics and aesthetics. In terms of mechanics, we count on typical off-road upgrades. The details are still unavailable, but we may presume that the list of features will include a completely new suspension setup, with new dampers, springs and notably raised ground clearance. Of course, count on skid plates, underbody protection, off-road tires, forged wheels and similar things. In terms of aesthetics, we expect to see new bumpers, which will provide not just more rugged looks, but also higher approach and departure angles. More details should be known soon.

Interior

We count on a couple of exclusive interior features as well. Of course, this would include things like “Pro-4X” stitching, unique color schemes and some exclusive pieces of standard equipment. Other than that, the new 2020 Nissan Titan Pro-4X will follow the changes that are coming with the update. The most important novelty will be a new touchscreen and infotainment system. From what we can see on spy shots, the new screen is much bigger, while physical buttons are positioned below the screen, instead of from each side. Other than that, we could see a couple of tweaks to the center stack and center console. The rest of the cabin will remain the same. When it comes to cab styles, we are pretty sure that this version won’t be available in Single Cab layout. The Crew Cab seems certain, while the King Cab also sounds very likely.

Powertrain

According to the latest reports, both engines will be available in the 2020 Nissan Titan Pro-4X. A well-known 5.6-liter unit will be standard. There’s a chance even to see a slight power boost. The current version features around 390 horsepower. Many experts suggest that a diesel version will be in the offer as well. Of course, that would be a 5.0-liter V8 from Cummins, which features a max output of 310 horsepower and 555 pound-feet of torque.
