2023 Chevy Avalanche Comeback: Rumors and Expectations

0

If we can trust the latest rumors, the familiar Avalanche nameplate could come back. Older generations know this model very well, as it was in production during the first decade of the 21st century. During that period, we’ve seen two generations of it and the main reason for discontinuation in 2013 was the economic crisis, which caused very slow sales numbers. Thankfully, things are different these days and people are once again preferring large vehicles with big and powerful engines.

So, the comeback is expected in the next year. We believe that the new model could come as the 2023 Chevy Avalanche and we don’t believe that the company will change the formula too much compared to the previous generations. We expect to see a familiar design approach, which perfectly combines two worlds – SUV and pickup.

2023 Chevy Avalanche Design

As we’ve just mentioned, the 2023 Chevy Avalanche will feature a pretty similar layout to its predecessor. We cunt on a combination of SUV and pickup layouts, in the way that the new model would offer pickup’s practicality and SUV’s ride quality. So, we presume that the Chevy Tahoe and Suburban SUVs would once again serve as the basis for this vehicle. The mechanical part would be pretty much the same, including the standard independent rear suspension. This would certainly have a big impact on handling, comfort and overall driving experience.

Visually, the new model should take a lot from the aforementioned SUVs. The overall layout would be similar, with the main exception of the area behind the C-pillar. Instead of the third row of seats and cargo area, the Avalanche would come with an open bed. The cargo bed would be as spacious as in traditional pickups like Silverado, but it would certainly offer a decent amount of cargo capacity and overall functionality.

Interior

On the inside, we presume that the dashboard design would look pretty much the same as in the new Tahoe. This means a nice combination of materials and overall build quality, which would make the 2023 Chevy Avalanche look quite upscale. Also, we would expect to see a long list of standard features, which includes things like a 10.2-inch touch screen, wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, satellite radio, HD Radio, Bluetooth, voice recognition, a six-speaker stereo, a Wi-Fi hot spot, household outlet and many more.

On the other hand, the key difference would be the back area of the cabin. As we already mentioned, the open cargo bed would replace the third row of seats and the cargo area. So, the new Avalanche would come with two spacious rows of seats, which should be able to accommodate adult passengers with ease.

2023 Chevy Avalanche Engines

This aspect of the vehicle shouldn’t bring any surprise and we have no doubt that the 2023 Chevy Avalanche would use GM’s well-familiar units, starting from the base 5.3-liter V8. This engine puts out 355 horsepower and 383 pound-feet of torque and it would provide a decent level of performance.

For those who are looking for something peppier, the 2023 Chevy Avalanche would also come with a 6.2-liter V8 unit. This one puts out 420 horsepower and 460 pound-feet of torque. Finally, we wouldn’t exclude the possibility to see a diesel version of this pickup. This one would feature a familiar 3.0-liter V6, which puts out around 277 horsepower and 460 pound-feet of torque.

All three engines would come coupled with a 10-speed automatic transmission.

2023 Chevy Avalanche Release Date and Price

At this point, the 2023 Chevy Avalanche is just a rumor and you should take its comeback with a big reserve. However, we can’t neglect all those rumors that suggest its arrival already in the next year. If it arrives, we presume that base models would go around 50.000 dollars.
