Of course, the “blue oval” company won’t just sit and wait. We will see changes in their Super Duty lineup as well. Of course, it won’t be a complete redesign, considering that the current generation is on the market since 2016. It will rather be a mid-cycle refresh. Naturally, the first model to come will be the 2020 Ford F-250.
The testing model has been spied already and it looks there is a whole bunch of interesting changes to come. Of course, the focus will be on aesthetics, but a big change under the hood is also rumored. It looks like we are about to see a new gasoline engine, maybe also a new transmission. Count on the new model’s arrival in the second half of next year, probably in the third quarter.
2020 Ford F-250 Changes
As we already mentioned, this will be a mid-cycle refresh. Moreover, it should be a classic facelift, largely. Without any doubt, the focus of this update will be on aesthetics. We are about to see a fine number of changes. Naturally, most of them should come in front. The testing model has been spotted and it is still under heavy camouflage. Still, even that massive cover can’t cover the grille entirely. It seems easy to notice that the new version will come with a much bigger badge, among other changes. Interestingly, latest reports suggest we are about to see two types of grille designs in the offer, one for lower and other for higher trim levels.
Besides a new grille, we count on a few more changes in different areas as well. Once again, it should be pretty much all about the front end, so count on modifications on the front bumper, headlights and few more areas. The 2020 Ford F-250 could also come with a few tweaks on the rear end, as well as from the side, where we could eventually see more muscles around wheels and similar things. 2020 Ford F-250 Engine
The 2020 Ford F-250 is also about to bring big changes under the hood. It’s no secret that Ford works on a new engine for Super Duty models for some time. Besides a new gasoline engine, many reports suggest we are about to see a new transmission in the offer as well. The current model comes with a familiar 6-speed gearbox and it seems it is time to see a new 10-speed automatic in Super Duty models as well. Still, it will probably be an option or reserved for higher trims only.
On the other side, a mighty diesel engine will carry on without bigger changes. It is a well-known 6.7-liter unit that delivers around 450 horsepower and 930 pound-feet of torque.
2020 Ford F-250 Redesign
Despite numerous changes, the 2020 Ford F-250 will keep base design characteristics the same. The new model will continue to ride on the same body, which utilizes lots of lightweight materials, primarily aluminum and HSS, which makes it lighter and more efficient compared to the competition. We definitely won’t see changes in dimensions either. The 2020 Ford F-250 will continue with familiar proportions and overall shape. This includes three familiar cab designs as well.
