2024 Hyundai Palisade Electric Truck: Rumors and Expectations

0

The Korean manufacturer is going towards massive electrification these days and prepares a whole range of new battery-electric vehicles. Of course, the plan includes various types of vehicles and some sources also speculate about an all-electric pickup. It looks like that model would come as the 2024 Hyundai Palisade Electric Truck. It would be based on the popular mid-size SUV.

Although the officials are still quiet about this pickup, we know what to expect. This model would be notably bigger than the Tucson-based Santa Cruz and it would combine a high level of comfort and a decent dose of utility. The all-electric powertrain is something we expect, but the initial version could easily come with the Palisade’s familiar V6 gasoline engine.

The 2024 Palisade Electric Truck could arrive already in 2024.

2024 Hyundai Palisade Electric Truck Design

As we’ve just mentioned, the 2024 Hyundai Palisade Electric Truck could arrive in less than two years and as the name suggests, it would be heavily based on the popular mid-size SUV. It would ride on the same platform and share most of the parts. Even the visual aspect would be pretty close, while the main difference would be in the body style – the Palisade pickup would feature a longer wheelbase, while the back area of the cabin would be replaced with an open cargo bed.

Some renderings can already be seen on the network. Most of them show exactly what you would expect, though with a dose of modification, particularly at the front, where we can see a slightly different face, with new headlights and grille, which accentuate the model’s all-electric nature.

The 2024 Hyundai Palisade Electric Truck would be a unibody SUV, based on a car platform, so the key competitor would be Honda Ridgeline, which currently offers by far the smoothest ride in the class.

Interior

At this point, it’s still early to talk about the cabin design. Still, the overall layout is pretty obvious – we are about to see a double-cab pickup, with two rows of seats and a high level of comfort. Both rows of seats should be spacious and comfortable, while the cargo bed should offer decent capacity too.

In terms of the dashboard design, we presume that things would look a little bit different compared to the current SUV model. Despite that the Palisade SUV looks pretty luxurious, the pickup iteration would probably bring a new design, with a simplified design and even more tech goodies. We presume that the Korean carmaker would follow the latest trends in the EV industry and offer a simplistic dashboard design, with a massive screen that replaces most of the physical controls.

2024 Hyundai Palisade Electric Truck Powertrain

At this point, details about the drivetrain and battery are completely unknown. It’s still early to talk about numbers, but there is no doubt that the company will tend to offer competitive power, probably in two available layouts – either with a single electric motor or with a dual-motor setup. Also, the battery should be large enough to provide at least 300 miles of range.

As we already mentioned, some sources speculate about a scenario where the new model would initially come with Palisade’s conventional, ICE setup. We don’t see this as a particularly likely scenario but it’s good to know that the Palisade SUV currently comes with a large 3.8-liter V6 engine, which puts out around 291 horsepower and uses an 8-speed automatic transmission. Some sources also speculate about the hybrid powertrain.
