2023 Renault Alaskan Might Get Refresh

0

Renault’s iteration of the Nissan Navara has been around since 2018 and while it left a decent mark on the market, it’s time for updates, according to rumors. It looks like we might see a slight update, which would include slightly styling revisions. On the other hand, we don’t believe that the new model could bring bigger changes in terms of mechanics, while the interior design should also remain largely the same. The updated model should arrive by the end of this year, as the 2023 Renault Alaskan.

Despite the updates, the overall design will remain the same. We are about to see a familiar pickup, which still has a lot of great things to offer. It is a proper work machine but at the same time, comfort is at a pretty high level. The cabin looks decent enough, while the engines are both capable and efficient.

As we’ve just mentioned, the 2023 Renault Alaskan could receive a refresh. At this point, the officials are still quiet but experts suggest that we could see some styling revisions. Of course, the biggest changes would be made at the front, where we could see revisions in areas like headlights, grille etc. The rest of the vehicle should keep pretty much the same styling.

Mechanically, this pickup is pretty much identical to the Navara and we expect that will remain the same. Although a pretty good working machine, this pickup also offers a pretty high level of comfort, which is something that separates it from rivals, which are primarily utility machines. This pickup feature an independent rear suspension, which ensures a smooth and comfortable ride. At the same time, you may count on a max towing capacity of 3.5 tons and 1.035 kg of the payload capacity, which are typical ratings for the class.

At the same time, the Alaskan is also a pretty capable off-roader. It is available with Nissan’s well-known four-wheel drive, while you may also count on goodies like a limited-slip differential, locking rear differential etc.

Interior

On the other hand, we don’t expect to see bigger changes on the inside. The current cabin already looks pretty nice, with decent materials and decent build quality. Of course, critics about looking pretty much the same as Navara will remain, but we are pretty sure that potential customers won’t mind that, given the fact that the overall quality is at a pretty decent level.  Still, we won’t exclude the possibility to see some updates in terms of tech features, maybe even a new infotainment screen with updated software.

2023 Renault Alaskan Interior

The 2023 Renault Alaskan will continue in a double cab layout as the only body style on offer. The amount of space is pretty good and both rows accommodate adults pretty easily. We also like the front seats, which are massive and supportive. The visibility is good in all directions, while we also like the ergonomics.

2023 Renault Alaskan Engines

When it comes to the powertrain, we don’t expect to see changes. The 2023 Renault Alaskan will continue with a familiar 2.3-liter turbodiesel, which comes in two output versions. Base models are good for about 160 horsepower and 403 Nm of torque and that version of the engine is available only with a 6-speed manual gearbox.

On the other hand, the more powerful version of the engine puts out 190 horsepower and 450 Nm of torque. Also, besides the manual gearbox, you can also get a 7-speed automatic gearbox.

In both cases, a properly equipped Alaskan can tow up to 3.500 kg.
