The current generation of the F-650 has been around since 2016 but if we consider that the previous generation was in production for about 15 years, it’s quite obvious that the current model will remain in production for several more years. However, we will be seeing yearly updates, which will keep this truck fresh and competitive. The 2023 Ford F-650 is about to come with one important upgrade. It is about to get electronic stability control, finally.
Other than that, we don’t expect to see bigger changes. The overall layout will remain the same and you may count on familiar versions regarding cab styles and overall design. The engine lineup will also remain the same, with two capable V8 units.
We expect that the 2023 Ford F-650 will hit the market sometime in the last quarter of the year.
2023 Ford F-650 Design
Design-wise, the 2023 Ford F-650 will carry on in the same way. Compared to the previous generation, which featured a chassis provided by Blue Diamond, the new one is designed by Ford. As a result, the current generation is lighter, even though the cabin layout carried over from the previous generation. Visually, not many things have changed since the launch of the current generation and we are pretty sure that the next year’s model will also remain the same in this aspect.
As we’ve just mentioned, the biggest novelty of the next year’s model will be the addition of electronic stability control. Other than that, things are about to remain the same. Moreover, you may also count on familiar cab configurations – two-door, four-door, and SuperCab cab configurations.
Interior
So, the 2023 Ford F-650 will carry on with familiar cab configurations. Therefore, the seating capacity will go from two to five passengers, depending on the version you pick. In any case, the overall cabin layout will remain the same.
This is a work mule, so it’s no wonder that the dashboard and the rest of the cabin look pretty basic. It features a rugged design, wrapped with hard plastics and similar materials. It doesn’t look particularly stylish but on the other hand, this cabin is built to last. You will notice an obvious lack of modern tech features, including infotainment screens, digital instrument cluster and various connectivity features. Still, you can get some of them if you’re willing to pay extra for options.
2023 Ford F-650 Engines
Things under the hood will remain unchanged. The good-old V10 Triton engine was replaced a few years ago, so base models now feature a new 7.3-liter V8, codenamed Godzilla. The engine comes coupled with a 6-speed automatic transmission and features a max output of around 350 horsepower and 468 pound-feet of torque.
The F-650 will also continue with a super-capable 6.7-liter PowerStroke turbodiesel. In this iteration, this engine features a max output of 270 horsepower and 700 pound-feet of torque, which are available already at 1.500 RPM.
2023 Ford F-650 Release Date and Price
We expect that the 2023 Ford F-650 will hit the market sometime in the last quarter of the year. The starting price should go around $61.000 for the gasoline model, while the diesel version should be available at around 69.000 dollars.
