At this point, we know most of the details and from what we can see, things look very promising. This all-electric pickup will come in several configurations and all of them will be pretty capable. The 2022 Rivian R1T will be fast, capable and efficient, but it will also offer plenty of luxury and convenience. Some would say a complete package.
2022 Rivian R1T Drivetrain
Of course, this is the most interesting aspect of the upcoming 2022 Rivian R1T. From what we know so far, the new truck will come standard with all-wheel-drive. Electric motors will be installed on both axles, providing a total output of 754 horsepower. With such an impressive number, you may count on spectacular acceleration. Allegedly, the R1T will need just three seconds to hit sixty. Furthermore, it will also be quite capable in terms of towing. The max towing capacity should go around 11.000 pounds.
When it comes to the battery, you may count on three variants in the offers. Base models will feature a 105-kWh batter package, which will be enough to provide 250 miles on a single charge. The mid-range option will feature a 135-kWh battery pack, which will be enough for a max range of 300 miles. Finally, there is the range-topping model with a 180-kWh battery and that version will feature a max range of 400 miles.
2022 Rivian R1T Design
When it comes to base design characteristics, the first thing you’ll notice is a pretty futuristic design approach. However, this is much more than a fancy-looking pickup truck. It also offers some pretty serious hardware, starting from a rigid chassis and standard adjustable air suspension, which allows setting the ground clearance anywhere between 8 and 14 inches. So, we can see that the 2022 Rivian R1T will have some pretty serious off-road pretensions as well.
The new truck will come in just one configuration when it comes to body styles, as a crew cab pickup. Interior
The first thing you’ll notice from the inside is that the 2022 Rivian R1T designers took a similar approach to Tesla Cybertruck. The dashboard looks very minimalistic, with the lack of any physical button and a completely clean design. Practically, the only thing you can notice is a couple of massive screens, one that controls the infotainment system and similar things, and the other that acts as a digital instrument cluster. The rest of the cabin also follows this futuristic approach.
When it comes to the interior space, the cabin feels really spacious. The two rows are generous with space in every aspect and there is no doubt this truck will be able to accommodate adults with ease. Also, the rectangular cabin shape promises excellent visibility in all directions.
2022 Rivian R1T Release Date and Price
The latest reports suggest that the first deliveries of the 2022 Rivian R1T will start in January next year. When it comes to the price, the Launch Edition will come first and it will cost around 75.000 dollars. Base models will become available later and they will cost around 67.500 dollars.
