2022 Chevy Silverado HD Gets New Interior
Without any doubt, the biggest novelty for the 2022 Chevy Silverado HD will be a new interior design. However, all of them show a heavily-camouflaged dashboard, so it is hard to talk about details at this point. Still, we have no doubt that the new dashboard will look more attractive and that the new Silverado’s cabin will utilize finer materials.
We also count on more tech features, starting from a bigger infotainment screen. One of the rare things that can be easily noticed in the testing model is the Super Cruise. This is GM’s advanced system that allows semi-autonomous highway driving. We presume this feature will remain exclusive to the most expensive versions only.
Exterior
On the other side, the exterior design is about to remain the same. The best we could see is the addition of a few new color options. Other than that, things will remain untouched. You may count on a familiar styling, which comes with a couple of different front fascias in the offer, depending on the trim level. Some of them look futuristic, while others feature rather a classic layout. We believe that each one looks very appealing.
In terms of mechanics, we definitely won’t see bigger changes. Of course, the rear suspension will differ, depending on the version you choose. The 3500HD will continue to feature a more rugged setup, which allows respectable ratings in terms of towing and hauling. However, we have to say that suspension isn’t as sophisticated as in RAM HD models, for example, so the ride quality definitely isn’t on par with FCA’s pickup truck.
2022 Chevy Silverado HD Engines
This aspect definitely won’t bring any particular change. We are about to see two familiar engines in the offer. The first one is a new 6.6-liter V8 gasoline unit, which puts out around 401 horsepower and 464 pound-feet of torque. On the other side, there is a well-known 6.6-liter Duramax V8 Turbodiesel, which features a max output of 445 horsepower and 910 pound-feet of torque. With this engine, you may count on some of the most impressive towing ratings in the class, which go up to 36.000 pounds.
When it comes to transmission, the gasoline engine uses a 6-speed automatic gearbox, while the diesel engine comes coupled with a new 10-speed unit.
2022 Chevy Silverado HD Release Date and Price
