We could see it coming. Ford is buying some time until its diesel engine comes (as well as the hybrid). The 2019 Ford F-150 RTR is a performance truck that was presented a few years ago at SEMA show. “Ready to rock” concept was able to create 600 horsepower from a 5.0-liter V8 engine. Now, with numerous upgrades, the muscle truck will probably more ponies.
The RTR package is already available for order. It costs $12,750 and you can buy individual parts as well. Another good thing is that you are not losing the warranty if you are after this model. Installing RTR parts is not an aftermarket upgrade, but the official product of the company. The 2019 Ford F-150 RTR will perform great on and off the road with new shocks and suspension. This might be the first of the performances truck we will see in the next couple of seasons, including Super Snake or Lightning pickup.
2019 Ford F-150 RTR Specs
Ford didn’t unveil specs of the new model. However, the last time it appeared, the “Ready to Rock” concept carried 5.0-liter drivetrain that was capable to produce 600 horsepower. The production version will probably keep and even possibly upgrade these numbers. This engine is already in the F-150 lineup. Mated to a ten-speed automatic transmission, it can produce 395 hp and 400 lb-ft of torque. Back in 2017, this was the same combination presented at the SEMA show. Numerous upgrades, including a special exhaust system and shocks.
The 2019 Ford F-150 RTR will carry numerous upgrades all around the vehicle. Interior, exterior, and engine room are getting new parts that will improve appearance and performance. This muscle truck will be capable to run on and off the road thanks to the new Fox shocks, version 2.0. Of course, off-road Nitto Ridge Grappler tires and large wheels are part of the RTR – Ready to Rock package. The truck will use special coilovers and dampers. Chassis mods bring double wishbones with significant extension. Furthermore, the RTR truck will add unique springs and floating hubs.
Off-Road Monster Truck
The base for the 2019 Ford F-150 RTR is the Lariat trim level with SuperCab configuration. Of course, 4×4 drive is standard. All these upgrades, especially Fox shocks, will make a monster of this truck. Having 600 ponies and a V8 engine under the hood, the pickup will be able to go anywhere. There won’t be an obstacle this model can’t defeat. Fox shocks are the best in this segment and all off-road packages include their products (Toyota TRD Pro for example). Well, some companies also opt for Bilstein or Rancho. However, when Ford officially adds Fox, that means something. F-150 is the best-selling vehicle in the USA, and in upcoming seasons it could pass the 1 million sold units per annum.
2019 Ford F-150 RTR Cosmetic Changes
The 2019 Ford F-150 RTR muscle truck will also bring many visual upgrades. Of course, this powerful vehicle needs an aggressive appearance. So, the company installs new fender flares and designers also prepared custom graphics. That is no all since the RTR badges are all around the vehicle. LED accents are making the pickup more elegant. An off-road truck must have a lot of protection on its body, so there is no surprise why Ford F-150 RTR comes with skid plates. Interior comes with few updates. There are few RTR badges, a plaque with Gittin Jr.’s signature. Leather upholstery and seats are optional. Outside, we already mentioned unique tires wrapping 20-inch wheels. This amount of power requires a special exhaust system. Cat-back tips will help the truck achieve more power.
2019 Ford F-150 RTR Has a Warranty
The new RTR package is an aftermarket upgrade. But, it is an official Ford’s product. What does it mean? It means that if you choose to upgrade your truck with Ready to Rock features, you will still keep your warranty. That is pretty cool since all other aftermarket tunings are making you lose it.
On the other hand, the 2019 Ford F-150 RTR is not as aggressive as some other companies can do. For example, Hennessey performance can make your truck deliver more power, or even add a 6×6 drive system. However, this tuning costs more and it comes without a warranty. Not only that, but you also lose the existing one. Hennessey performances squeeze 600 hp from the twin-turbo V6 engine. Using a 5.0-liter V8 unit, their aftermarket product creates 760 ponies.
