According to the latest reports, the company prepares a couple of tech updates, which will make towing and overall driving experience even better. Other than that, we expect that the 2021 Chevy Silverado 2500HD will come with pretty much the same characteristics.
The recent redesign has brought a lot of significant improvements, especially when it comes to utility and overall performances. There is a new gasoline engine, while the new chassis design ensures significant improvements in terms of towing capacity. Of course, one of the most prominent parts of the new model is the front end styling, which comes with a gigantic grille that features different patterns, depending on the trim level. Although the number of novelties won’t be that big, it looks like the 2021 Chevy Silverado 2500HD will hit the market already in the summer.

The system ensures convenient ride and trailing, as there are 15 cameras that immediately show all kinds of views, such as ahead of the pickup, to the sides, behind the bed, around the hitch, inside the bed, and behind the trailer, along with several top-down etc. It looks like the system will be improved for the second production year, so you may count on even better trailering experience.

When it comes to base characteristics, this version is essentially a Silverado 2500 Crew Cab LTZ model, which comes with the Z71 off-road package. The truck is full of exclusive details, and the first thing you’ll notice is Carhartt gold detailing. Moreover, there are things like black vent hood, tow hooks, chrome hood with additional inserts etc. Furthermore, there are body-color bumpers, tailgate bowtie and Carhartt badging on the doors and tailgate. As you may presume, the most prominent details on the inside are seats, which come in nice two-tone Jet Black and Carhartt Brown finish, with exclusive stitching and logo on the headrest.
2021 Chevy Silverado 2500HD Engines
When it comes to the powertrain department, we will see no changes for the next year. Therefore, you may count on two familiar units. The first one is a recently-introduced 6.6-liter V8 engine, which is good for 401 horsepower and 464 pound-feet of torque. Of course, those who care more about towing will pick an optional turbodiesel engine. That’s a well-known 6.6-liter Duramax V8 unit, which is good for about 445 horsepower and 910 pound-feet of torque.
When it comes to transmission, the base gasoline engine comes in pair with a 6-speed gearbox. The optional turbodiesel comes with a new 10-speed automatic gearbox.
2021 Chevy Silverado 2500HD Trim Levels
Although each trim could come with novelties in terms of standard equipment, the base trim level organization will remain the same. Therefore, you may count on five versions in the offer. The base Work Truck trim is a pretty basic trim. Still, it comes with a decent amount of tech goodies, including a 7-inch touchscreen and smartphone integration.
The Custom trim comes with a couple of interesting novelties. For example, you may count on cruise control and full power accessories. Also, you may count on bigger wheels. Those who are looking for a mid-range option could consider the LT model, which comes with interesting upgrades, such as a remote locking tailgate, cloth upholstery, leather-wrapped steering wheel, heated side mirrors etc.
The LTZ trim is a great choice for those who want to add a little bit of luxury and convenience to their ride. Some of the highlights are things like leather upholstery, heated and power-adjustable front seats, bigger 8-inch touchscreen etc.
Finally, there is the range-topping High Country model, which includes all above and also adds things like spray-in bedliner, premium audio system, ventilated seats and more.
Release Date and Price
We expect to see 2021 Chevy Silverado 2500HD on the market already in the summer. When it comes to the price, the base models should go a little bit under 36.000 dollars.
