The new generation of Ford’s mid-size pickup is on the way. The international-markets version was already presented a while ago and we expect that the North American model will debut sometime in the next year, as the 2024 Ford Ranger. From what we can see on the international model, there are many novelties to come. The U.S. model won’t be any different, though there is a big chance to see a couple of unique design solutions, in various aspects.
The new model will ride on the updated T6 platform and it will bring a completely new design. Improvements are expected in various aspects, starting from the ride quality, styling, performance etc. Also, we expect to see a high-performance Raptor model for the first time in North America. A hybrid version is also expected sometime in the future, while the all-electric model has also been rumored.
2024 Ford Ranger Redesign
The Blue Oval company is about to bring a new generation of the popular mid-size pickup. Interestingly, we won’t see an all-new platform. Instead, we will see the updated version of the T6 architecture, which will bring various improvements, particularly in terms of ride quality. This particularly refers to the new suspension setup, which should provide a higher level of comfort and better ride quality.
Of course, we are also about to see a completely new styling and we don’t expect that the U.S. model will look any different than the model presented in Australia. Therefore, you may count on the new front-end design, which takes a lot of inspiration from the F-150 and looks more rugged and more aggressive than before. Another important novelty that could come exclusively for the North American market is the long 6-foot bed offered with a crew cab model. Such a long bed has been available only with a smaller cabin so far.
Interior
Naturally, the new generation is also about to bring the new cabin design and from what we’ve seen on the Australian-market model, things look way better than before. Compared to the outgoing generation, the dashboard looks way more upscale. The new shape offers a more massive layout, with bolder shapes and nicer materials. Still, the thing you’ll notice first is the addition of new tech features. There is a digital instrument cluster, as well as a massive, vertically-oriented infotainment screen, which will probably be reserved for higher trim levels.
Just like the current generation, the new model should also come both in extended and crew cab variants. In both cases, you may count on dimensions that are pretty similar to the outgoing model, which means that you may count on a similar amount of space as well.
2024 Ford Ranger Engines
From what we know so far, the North American model will initially come with two powertrain options. Base models will continue with a familiar 2.3-liter turbo-four. The current version of the engine puts out around 270 horsepower, but we presume that the new model would come with a little bit more power. Some sources speculate about 300 horsepower.
The new 2024 Ford Ranger will also come in a high-performance Raptor version for the first time in North America. From what we know so far, this model will feature a 3.0-liter twin-turbo V6 engine, with a max output of around 392 horsepower and 430 pound-feet of torque.
A hybrid version probably won’t be ready for the initial launch but we expect to see it soon after. An all-electric model is also about to come in the future.
2024 Ford Ranger Release Date and Price
We expect that the 2024 Ford Ranger will arrive sometime in the next year. We presume that base models will go around 28.000 dollars. Key competitors are models like Chevy Colorado, Jeep Gladiator etc.
