It’s no secret that the next generation of Ford’s mid-size pickup is almost ready. It will hit the market this year and it will bring a lot of novelties, including a model called the 2023 Ford Ranger Tremor. This will be an off-road model, which will bring a couple of notable mechanical changes, along with a few styling details that accentuate the model’s off-road character.
The Ranger’s comeback to the U.S. market happened a few years ago and it turned out to be quite successful. This model already became the second best-selling pickup in the class, with a better record than Chevy Colorado and Jeep Gladiator. However, the thing it’s been missing so far is an off-road version. While the Raptor is available in Australia and Europe, that’s not the case with the North American market. Fortunately, this will change soon and the next-generation Ranger will bring not just the Raptor version, but also a model called the 2023 Ford Ranger Tremor.
We expect its arrival in the second half of the year.
2023 Ford Ranger Tremor Design
As we’ve just mentioned, this will be an off-road version of the Ranger pickup. At this point, the exact details are still unavailable, but we presume the 2023 Ford Ranger Tremor will follow the same path as the samely-named version of the full-size F-150. This means a capable off-road pickup with a relatively affordable price and without fanfares of the Raptor.
Of course, the focus will be on mechanics, particularly the suspension setup, which will be upgraded with more capable components. The ground clearance will be higher, while we also count on all-terrain tires, as well as on the standard 4WD. Furthermore, the rear locking differential should be part of the standard equipment, while we also count on several drive modes.
Visually, the 2023 Ranger Tremor should bring a couple of exclusive details that accentuate the model’s off-road character. Still, the overall layout won’t be significantly different compared to the rest of the lineup. Another important thing to mention is that the model will probably come in a crew cab version only.
Interior
Just like the rest of the lineup, the 2023 Ford Ranger Tremor will also receive a modern interior design. The new model should come with a couple of exclusive details but most of the dashboard should look the same as in the standard model. Therefore, count on a modern dash with finer materials and lots of tech features. Some of the things that come to mind are a digital instrument cluster, which should be part of the standard equipment, just like the large vertically-oriented 12.1-inch infotainment system.
Naturally, we count on all other kinds of tech features, such as wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, wireless charging and Wi-Fi hotspot, as well as a lot of advanced driver-assist features. As we already mentioned, the 2023 Ranger Tremor should come in a crew cab layout only. Five seats and a decently-sized 5-foot bed are something we expect to see.
2023 Ford Ranger Tremor Engine
We expect no surprises under the hood of the 2023 Ford Ranger Tremor. While the new Raptor will probably feature a 2.7-liter V6, the Tremore will rather come with the same engine as the rest of the lineup. Of course, we are talking about the familiar turbo-four, the same one that powers the current generation. The exact numbers are still unknown. Still, we presume that the max output won’t be significantly different compared to the current version, which puts out around 270 horsepower and 310 pound-feet of torque. The engine will come in pair with a 10-speed automatic transmission.
2023 Ford Ranger Tremor Release Date and Price
We expect that the 2023 Ford Ranger Tremor will arrive sometime in the second half of the year. It’s still early to talk about the price, while we expect that the key competitors will be models like Toyota Tacoma TRD Pro, GMC Canyon AT4 etc.
