2023 Ram HD Trucks: Redesign, Rumors, Updates, Facelift, Changes, Release Date

The current generation of Ram HD pickups has been around for a while and if we can trust the latest reports, the next year could bring updates. The 2023 Ram HD Trucks will probably come with a so-called mid-cycle update, which would include styling changes, as well as some pretty interesting novelties under the skin.

At this point, the officials are still quiet but if we can trust the latest rumors, the next year will bring a new styling, with several cosmetic changes at the front. Of course, we expect to see more standard equipment but the biggest change should be a new transmission for the diesel version. As the officials are still quiet, take all this with a big reserve.

2023 Ram HD Trucks Design

The current generation of Ram’s HD trucks has been around for just a couple of years. Therefore, it’s hard to expect any significant changes. The overall layout will remain the same, especially in terms of mechanics. On the other hand, we could see a couple of styling upgrades, especially at the front. Some of the things that come to mind are a new grille and bumper, while headlights could come with some revisions as well. Of course, typical mid-cycle updates, such as new color options are also expected.

The 2023 Ram HD Trucks will remain mostly the same, and that refers to the entry-level 2500 model as well, including its off-road version, which is known as Power Wagon. This model comes with a couple of interesting mechanical upgrades, in terms of suspension, drivetrain, tires etc. Also, there are few styling details that accentuate its off-road character.

Interior and Features

Interior changes are not expected. Simply, the current model already features the nicest cabin in the class, so there is no need for modifications. The build quality is great while the materials are really fine. Also, there is a long list of available tech features that make this cabin look pretty luxurious.

Although we will probably see a couple of novelties regarding standard equipment, the trim level organization will remain the same. So, the offer should start with the Tradesman, which comes with a pretty basic list of features, such as manual accessories, steel wheels etc. The Big Horn/Lone Star comes with bigger wheels, chrome exterior details, etc. The mid-range Laramie trim level brings upgrades like leather upholstery, 8.4-inch touchscreen, LED lighting and lots of other convenience features.

The Longhorn and Limited trims gradually add more and more features, putting this truck in the luxury territory.

2023 Ram HD Trucks Engines

Under the hood, the 2023 Ram HD Trucks will continue with two familiar engine options. Base models will continue with a 6.4-liter V8, which puts out around 410 horsepower and 429 pound-feet of torque and comes in pair with 8-speed automatic transmission.

Of course, you may count on a well-known 6.7-liter Cummins turbodiesel, which comes in two output variants. Base versions feature 370 horsepower and 850 pound-feet of torque, while the more capable version, which is available in the 3500 model only, puts out 400 horsepower and 1.075 pound-feet of torque. With this engine, the Ram 3500HD is capable of towing more than 37.000 pounds.

A big change could come in terms of transmission for the diesel engine. The current version features a 6-speed automatic. This transmission works well, but rivals come with 10-speed units. Therefore, the 2023 Ram HD Trucks could come with a new unit, probably with 10 speeds as well. It could easily be provided by Allison.

2023 Ram HD Trucks Release Date and Price

We expect that the 2023 Ram HD Trucks will arrive sometime in the second half of 2022, with a starting price of around 37.500 dollars. Of course, key competitors are Chevy Silverado HD and Ford Super Duty models.
