2023 Ram 2500 Might Receive Mid-Cycle Update

2023 Ram 2500

The current generation of Ram’s HD models has been around since 2019, which means we may expect updates in the near future. According to some sources, the 2023 Ram 2500 could receive a mid-cycle refresh. That update would include all kinds of changes, though you should remain reserved, considering that the officials are still quiet.

At this point, we can only speculate about the possible updates. Without any doubt, base design characteristics would remain the same but on the other hand, it wouldn’t be a surprise to see some interesting styling changes. Also, rumors about the new transmission are always active. On the other hand, the engine lineup should remain the same.

We expect that the 2023 Ram 2500 will hit the market sometime in the second half of 2022.

2023 Ram 2500 Redesign

As we’ve just mentioned, base design characteristics definitely won’t change. We are about to see the same overall layout, which has so many good things to offer. We particularly like the suspension setup. Not only that this is the most capable pickup in the class, but also a pickup that offers superior comfort and ride quality.

On the other hand, there is always room for styling changes. The current model looks good but it would definitely use some updates. Simply, both Ford F-250 and Chevy Silverado 2500HD look more aggressive, with all those sharp lines and massive grilles. So, the 2023 Ram 2500 might come with a couple of visual upgrades, especially at the front. We could see revisions in areas like headlights, grille, bumpers etc. Also, we will probably see typical mid-cycle updates, such as new color options, new wheels and similar things.

Interior

On the other hand, we don’t expect any bigger changes on the inside. Simply, the current model already features the nicest cabin in the class. This pickup features an attractive dashboard design, high-quality materials and excellent build quality. Furthermore, higher trim levels also come with lots of advanced tech goodies, which make everything look even more upscale.

Speaking of the trim levels, we have no doubt that the 2023 Ram 2500 will continue with the same organization of equipment groups. So, the Tradesman moniker will remain reserved for the most basic models, while the Big Horn will bring a couple of upgrades. Of course, the Laramie will remain one of the most desirable versions, as a mid-range model that offers a great balance between price and amount of features. The Longhorn and Limited will remain the two most luxurious versions of the pickup.

You may also count on the same cab configurations and bed lengths on the offer. This means three familiar cab styles – Regular, Crew and Mega Cab, as well as two bed lengths – 6.4-foot and 8-foot.

2023 Ram 2500 Engines

Under the hood, the 2023 Ram 2500 will continue with two familiar engines. The first one is a well-known 6.4-liter HEMI V8m which puts out 410 horsepower and 429 pound-feet of torque. It comes in pair with 8-speed automatic transmission.

There is also a familiar 6.7-liter inline-six turbodiesel from Cummins, which delivers 370 horsepower and 850 pound-feet of torque. Some sources suggest that Ram could also offer a more powerful variant of the engine in this model. That variant puts out 400 horsepower and a monstrous 1.075 pound-feet of max torque.

This engine currently comes coupled with a 6-speed automatic transmission from Aisin. However, we can hear a lot of reports that suggest that a new transmission is in the works. Some sources claim the new model will use a 10-speed Allison transmission, while others believe in a new unit from Aisin.

2023 Ram 2500 Release Date and Price

We expect that the 2023 Ram 2500 will hit the market sometime in the second half of 2022. Also, we don’t expect bigger price changes. So, base models should go around 37.500 dollars.
