The Italian carmaker has a long tradition of making small pickups, including those designed especially for the South American market. Of course, we think of Strada, a small hauler that has been on the market for more than two decades. The next generation is on the way and it will hit the market as the 2021 Fiat Strada, later this year. It brings all kinds of novelties, starting from a completely new design and aesthetics. Of course, there is also new interior design, as well as two familiar engines in the offer. It is expected that the offer will be expanded in the future.
2021 Fiat Strada Redesign
Just one look at the new 2021 Fiat Strada and it becomes obvious that this model will sell well. Not only that it should be a practical and useful hauled, a perfect commercial vehicle, but this model also looks amazing. Of course, it takes a lot of inspiration from Argo. Still, the whole styling is designed in the manner of the latest passenger cars of the Italian carmaker. There are familiar headlights, while the grille has been highlighted with “FIAT” lettering instead of the company’s familiar badge.
At this point, the four-door model is ready, while the single cab model is expected to arrive soon. Sales won’t start that soon anyway. The four-door model is 4.480mm long, while the cargo bed features dimensions that go 1.173×1.059 millimeters. The payload capacity will be 650 kg.
Interior
From what we can see in the pictures, the 2021 Fiat Strada will be a really nice place to be in. the dashboard looks very attractive, while materials seem hi-quality as well. At this point, we still don’t know the exact interior dimensions, but the company claims this four-door version will be able to comfortably accommodate five passengers. Of course, the single cab model will feature just one row of seats, but a longer cargo bed and higher payload capacity.
Of course, we also count on loads of new tech features, starting from a 7-inch touchscreen, which will be offered in higher trims. Also, count on Wi-Fi hotspot and many other tech goodies that are typical for passenger cars.
2021 Fiat Strada Engines
At this point, we know that there are two engines that are definitely coming to the South American market. Base models are expected to come with a 1.4-liter engine that delivers around 90 horsepower. On the other side, higher trims should come with a newer 1.3-liter turbocharged unit, which is good for about 110 horsepower. Both engines will come in pair with a 5-speed manual transmission, but some sources suggest that the CVT will be offered as well. Considering that the new model won’t come to Europe, diesel versions are not expected.
2021 Fiat Strada Release Date and Price
The 2021 Fiat Strada was expected to hit the market this April. However, the launch has been delayed and it will probably happen sometime in the second half of the year. When it comes to the price, base models will go around 12.500 dollars.
